Southlake, Texas

A quiet and vibrant place to call home!

Southlake, Texas is rich in more ways than one. Residents of this affluent Tarrant County community are also very rich in love.

Within 20 miles of downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth, Southlake offers a unique blend of excellent location, with an extraordinary quality of life. In December 2008, Forbes.com named Southlake the most affluent neighborhood in the United States based on average median household income estimates. And there is a reason Southlake is regularly included in such lists as “The Best Places To Live” and recently voted as one of the top “Best Dallas Suburbs 2014” in D Magazine.

 The 3 S’s:

School. Shopping. Social.

A population just shy of 30,000, Southlake has grown by 257% since 1990. And so have their standards. The Southlake-Carroll Independent School District epitomizes academic excellence. The district is rated "Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. And don’t you dare think about missing a game. Southlake is home to the 5A Carroll Dragons who have 8 state championships. In addition, Southlake is conveniently located near Tarrant County College Northeast, the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Arlington and many other institutions of higher learning in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Shopping is outstanding in Southlake. Their central hub, Southlake Town Square is strategically located in the middle of the city and houses national retail tenants such as The Container Store, Crate and Barrel, The Gap, Ann Taylor, and many unique, specialty boutiques as well. For golf lovers, the community boasts a golfer's paradise at Timarron Country Club, and the City has 11 public parks, three miles of walking trails, a community center, a tennis center, numerous athletic fields, and an active public library. And get here early for popular events like The Annual Southlake Art on the Square, Summer Concerts and The Butterfly Festival.

Close to work. Close to home.

Proximity is top-notch in Southlake, with four major highways crisscrossing through the city. Commuting to and from work has become a breeze. But Southlake is also home for national corporate citizens including Sabre and Verizon Wireless with many other major corporate facilities just minutes away.

One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 11.28% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
