Realtors vs. Robots

Realtors vs. Robots - The Rise of the Drone

If you'd told me back in 2005 when I first got into Real Estate that I would soon be flying a drone over my clients' homes while capturing live video on a portable tablet, I'd have called you crazy. A genius maybe, but definitely crazy. Yet here we are today. We now have the power to capture images that until recently were unobtainable to anybody without a pilot's license. To tell the true story of a home and its neighborhood. To give buyers from across the world a vivid, accurate portrait of a city they've never seen, and a house they have yet to call home.

We have the power to assist the inspectors we work with on a daily basis more than any other brokerage in Texas. I mean seriously, when did you last see a Realtor climb up on a client's roof? Just this month we saved a client thousands of $$$ on costly repairs, because during a routine flyover we discovered damage to roofing that the inspector had been unable to see, and that the seller was unaware of. This damage was pre-existing so would not have been covered by our client's warranty or insurance.

I can't tell you how many times I have walked into a home with a client and been told, "This looks nothing like the pictures!". And I've had to agree with them. Some agents, whether inadvertently or not, are less than truthful when they market a property. "Cozy" means it's small. "Ready for new owners!" conjures up memories of Tom Hanks in Money Pit, and, well....

At Dallas Luxury Realty we take a different approach - to the way we market homes, and to the way we do business on a daily basis. We're in it for the long haul. We truly hope that a client who buys a home from us today, will sell that home through us in 5, 10, or 15 years when it's time to move again. But to do that, we need to be honest, and paint a clear and truthful picture of the homes we market, while also making them exciting and inviting to buyers. Which is where our Drone Technology comes in.

And we expect many other brokers to follow suit. Because while a picture paints a thousand words, the MLS only allows us 450 characters and 20 pictures to portray a property. I can throw about phrases like "soaring vistas over Texas skies..." all day long, but nothing beats actually flying through those skies over your new home.
